Welcome to my website.
At some point in our lives we all encounter problems we struggle to overcome on our own. We may find it hard to ask friends or family for help, as they are perhaps too close to us – or indeed, they may be part of the problem. Talking things through with someone impartial and non-judgemental in a safe environment really can help. At first you may feel nervous talking about very private issues with someone you don’t know, but a good counsellor or psychotherapist will always go at your pace, and work in the way that best meets your needs.
People come to psychotherapy for all sorts of reasons. I have a special interest in those with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD); working to find out what may lie beneath it. I also work with issues including:
- Relationship breakdown
- workplace stress
- Bereavement, including infant loss
- Low self-esteem
- Pet loss
- Issues that go back many years, such as abuse in childhood – or simply a feeling that life isn’t meant to be like this.
I am an experienced counsellor, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work one-to-one with adults and teenagers. I have a therapy room in the centre of Basingstoke, easily accessible by both road and public transport.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are charged at £50. I offer a concessionary rate for trainees on a recognised counselling course.
